Universal Fitness was founded in 1986, and began its operations in a small workshop with 40 m² in the city of Joinville, Brazil, initially manufacturing only one product model, the home gym Vigor 2001. Over the years, and taking advantage of the growing demand in the Brazilian market for physical activity products. The company increased its portfolio by diversifying models and lines constantly seeking to meet all kinds of demands. The company has more than 200 items in there portfolio, outlets in more than 25 countries and approximately sells 55,000 products per month.

In Joinville, Brazil there is a team solely responsible for the administration, training, technical and administrative assistance.

Today Universal Fitness carries three brands; Athletic, Tecnofitness and Athletic Professional.

The Athletic invests in staff, laboratories, new processes, new products and technology. The company has a manufacturing plant in Manaus and 5 manufacturing plants through out China that produce and distribute products throughout Latin America, Central America and the Caribbean.
